Take the Lead offer dog walking services in Ramsbottom, Tottington, Helmshore, Haslingden and Rawtenstall. Established in 2009 Take the Lead is one of the longest running dog walking companies in the area and is owned and run by dog lover Jo Barrington. As well as having a passion and love for dogs, Jo has also completed a course in canine psychology, so is able to offer customers advise on aspects of training and behavioural problems. All of our walkers are experienced in handling all types of dogs from Puppies to older dogs. We care for our client’s dogs as if they were our own and are fully insured. With over 13 years of experience in the business you can be rest assured your dog will be in safe hands with Take the Lead.
Dog Walking
Many of our customers work and simply don’t have time to give their dogs a really good walk every day. Take the Leads Dog Walking service is the perfect solution for them. Dogs are collected from home and transported in our fully equipped vans to the local park or country walk. Unless specified, dogs are exercised off lead as much as possible.
Group Walks
Group walks are great fun for dogs. They get double the amount of exercise than a walk alone and love running and playing with other dogs, it’s also a great way for them to socialise. The maximum number of dogs taken on a group walk is 6 at a time, your dog will be assessed before being introduced to other dogs to ensure he or she gets on with the rest of the pack.
Training & Behaviour
As well as walking Take the Lead can offer 1:1 advice on behaviour issues. All training is reward based; dogs are never chastised or punished for getting things wrong. Many people perceive their dogs to be problematic and apply their own reasoning, seldom achieving any improvement. At Take The lead, we work with dog owners and help them understand why their dogs behave the way they do and how to change any undesirable behaviour.
Transport
Situated in Ramsbottom and Haslingden, we are fully insured and offer a door to door service using a fully equipped Mercedes Vito vans, with custom built cages to transport dogs in comfort. We will collect your dog from home and drop him back after his walk. Dogs are usually out for around 2 hours so it is perfect if you have a long working day and worry about your dog being bored.
